Summit Entertainment brings exclusive new footage and some surprise guests from its exciting 2009 film lineup, which includes:
Knowing in theaters March 20, 2009
From visionary director Alex Proyas (I Robot, Dark City) comes a gripping action-thriller of global proportions, about a professor (Nicolas Cage) who stumbles onto terrifying predictions about the future – and sets out to prevent them from coming true.
The Hurt Locker n theaters late summer 2009
Kathryn Bigelow (Blue Steel) directs this acclaimed explosive thriller about an elite bomb squad engaged in a deadly game of cat and mouse amidst the chaos of war.
Astro Boy in theaters October 23, 2009
A thrilling tale of a true hero, Astro Boy is an all-new, feature film full of action, adventure, humor and heart. Based on the beloved manga, Astro Boy will be brought to life on the big screen in breathtaking CGI animation. See the world premiere of footage from Astro Boy in this exclusive presentation.
For some reason the Chris Weitz-directed New Moon wasn’t listed, which is probably because Summit doesn’t have footage from the Twilight sequel yet. However New Moon is currently scheduled to be delivered to hungry Twilight fans on November 20, 2009.
Summit’s current project is Push, which hits theaters in about 2 hours, according to my watch. The young studio could surprise everyone with some cast members from any of these projects, but again, I have not been able to confirm anything of the sort. This should be incredible in any case.
I don’t who will be attending this panel, but something tells me it’s going to be one of the premiere event of the weekend. The panel takes place on Saturday, beginning at 4pm, in the IGN Theater.
