According to the Hollywood Reporter, Brad Pitt’s Plan B Productions has beaten out Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions in a bidding war over the upcoming zombie horror novel by Max Brooks called World War Z.
Plan B and Paramount Pictures won the rights to the story, which tackles the zombie genre, and is set 10 years after a global epidemic. It’s being described as a serious oral history of the future zombie told from various perspectives around the world.
In 2003, Brooks wrote Zombie Survival Guide, which explained in great detail how to survive a supposedly impending zombie apocalypse. The book went on to become a surprise cult hit. World War Z hits bookstores this Fall.
