The New York International Latino Film Festival, which runs from July 27th through August 2nd, 2009, opens with a screening of Peter Bratt’s film The Mission, starring Benjamin Bratt, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Other events include a tribute to actor and comedian John Leguizamo and a closing-night screening of John Cotten’s Mexican crime drama La Linea (The Line). La Linea features an ensemble cast including Andy Garcia, Ray Liotta, Esai Morales, Armand Assante, Bruce Davison, Jason Connery, Michael DeLorenzo, Joe Morton, Valerie Cruz, Jordi Vilasuso, Danny Trejo, Kevin Gage and Gary Daniels.
The festival will utilize a number of new venues in the Chelsea district of New York City including the Clearview Cinemas Chelsea 9, located at 260 West 23rd Street, and the School of Visual Arts Theater, located at 333 West 23rd Street.
