Twentieth Century Fox partnered with Vice Media’s Motherboard to release three short films documenting the 10 years between the films Rise and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The Before the Dawn short films show fans what happened during that decade, which led to mankind’s descent into destruction. The short films include “Quarantine,” documenting year one, “All Fall Down” at year five, and “The Gun,” 10 years after the viral pandemic known as the simian flu began, when only humans immune to the virus survived.
In Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Caesar and his army of apes are threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. Apes and humans are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes hits theaters on July 11th.
