Disney has released a 10-minute clip from Academy Award-winner Andrew Stanton’s upcoming epic action-adventure John Carter, ahead of the film’s Friday IMAX and standard theatrical run. The clip reveals hints to why John Carter became so feed up and apathetic with life on our planet – that is, before making his journey to Mars. The scene also hints at how he made the journey from Earth to the mysterious planet. It may be wrapped up in some Indian legend that he stumbles upon while escaping Apaches and Union soldiers. The entire clip takes place on planet Earth, without a sign of Mars in sight.
John Carter stars Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Bryan Cranston, Polly Walker, Daryl Sabara, with Thomas Haden Church and Willem Dafoe. The film is produced by Jim Morris, Lindsey Collins and Colin Wilson, from a script by Andrew Stanton, Mark Andrews and Michael Chabon, based on the story A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
