Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos will screen during this year’s AM2 Anime and Gaming event at the Downtown Independent theater, located at 251 South Main Street in Los Angeles, CA. Passport badge holders have a chance to attend the official premiere event. Passport ticket buyers will be automatically entered into the AM2 Pre-Registration contest to potentially win two tickets to the Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos Red Carpet Premiere Event, which includes the screeing at 9:00 pm, followed by a Q&A with production and cast members. Japanese director Kazuya Murata and U.S. director Mike McFarland will be on hand, along with members of the U.S. voice cast, including Vic Mignogna and Bones Animation Studios chief, Masahiko Minami.
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos, a feature-length adventure into the world of an international anime sensation. In the new film, a fugitive alchemist with mysterious abilities leads the Elric brothers to a distant valley of slums inhabited by the Milos, a proud people struggling against bureaucratic exploitation. Ed and Al quickly find themselves in the middle of a rising rebellion, as the exiled Milos lash out against their oppressors. At the heart of the conflict is Julia, a young alchemist befriended by Alphonse. She’ll stop at nothing to restore the Milos to their former glory – even if that means harnessing the awful power of the mythical Philosopher’s Stone.
Entrance to the event is free, but attendees can avoid the lines by obtaining a priority entrance Passport fast pass. The Passport fast pass also provides holders with premier seating options at main events and concert events, as well as discounts to theme parks, retailers and local restaurants. Concert events are only accessible via a purchased Passport or concert ticket.
AM2 Con, which was established in 2010, takes place in Anaheim, California. It consists of a 3 day, 24 hour event with no general attendance or badge purchase requirement. AM2 aspires to be a key meeting place for fans sharing a common interest in Asian music, Animation & Anime, along with Comics & Manga. Nominal fees are charged for certain activities that attendees choose to participate in. The 2012 event will be held from June 15-17th at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. This year’s activities include activities include an Exhibit Hall, AMV Arcade, Summer Festival, Behind the Voice Actors Studio, Masquerade, Cosplay Chess, Dances, Fashion Shows, Table Top Console Gaming, Workshops, Panels, Concerts and more.
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos, which was originally titled Hagane no renkinjutsushi: Mirosu no seinaru hoshi, was released in Japan on July 2, 2011. The official theme song for the movie is called “Good Luck My Way” and was performed by L’Arc-en-Ciel. This edition of Fullmetal Alchemist was directed by Code Geass assistant director Kazuya Murata, and was developed by the Bones Animation Studio, which worked on the cult classic Cowboy Bebop: The Movie.
The Japanese cartoon series Fullmetal Alchemist began in 2001 and concluded June 2010, selling over 50 million volumes. It was adapted into a 51 episode television animation series in 2003, and the second season started in 2009 on Adult Swim/Cartoon Network, spanning 64 episodes, and still aired as of December 2011.
