Steve McQueen’s original cult crime classic Thomas Crown Affair to play Loew’s

The Thomas Crown Affair movie posterI just received word that Norman Jewison’s cult classic 1968 crime film The Thomas Crown Affair, will screen as part of a weekend of classic “caper” movies at The Landmark Loew’s Jersey. It’s a rare chance to see Steve McQueen’s swagger as Thomas Crown on the big screen, as well as the beautiful Faye Dunaway, with Paul Burke and Yaphet Kotto along for the ride.

Steve McQueen plays a debonair, adventuresome bank executive who believes he’s pulled off the perfect multi-million dollar heist, only to match wits with a sexy insurance investigator (Faye Dunaway) who will do anything to get her man.

Thomas Crown Affair also stars Jack Weston, Biff McGuire, Addison Powell, Astrid Heeren, Gordon Pinsent, Sidney Armus, Richard Bull, Peg Shirley, Patrick Horgan, Carol Corbett, Tom Rosqui, Michael Shillo, Nora Marlowe, Sam Melville, Ted Gehring, Paul Verdier and Judy Pace.

The weekend will also include a screening of Woody Allen’s 1969 comic heist film Take the Money and Run, starring Janet Margolin, Marcel Hillaire, Jacquelyn Hyde, Lonny Chapman, Jan Merlin, James Anderson, Howard Storm, Mark Gordon, Micil Murphy, Minnow Moskowitz, Nate Jacobson, Grace Bauer, Ethel Sokolow, Dan Frazer, Henry Leff, Mike O’Dowd, Jackson Beck. Woody Allen’s Take the Money and Run is presented as a documentary on the life of an incompetent, petty criminal named Virgil Starkwell.

The fun all takes place on September 23rd and 24th, 2011, at The Landmark Loew’s Jersey, located at 54 Journal Square, in Jersey City, New Jersey.
