Recently director James Cameron and producer Jon Landau took part in an exciting media day where they introduced audiences to an array of interactive experiences, showcasing the intricate production and behind-the-scenes special effects for the upcoming Avatar Extended Collector’s Edition release, which hits Blu-ray and DVD on November 16th.
The behemoth release features the original theatrical version of Avatar, the special edition re-release of Avatar, and a special collector’s extended cut of the instant classic sci-fi film, which reportedly contains an exclusive alternate opening sequence. After watching the release trailer, it’s clear this is no one or two shot added bonus for DVD-land. This opening sequence features entirely unique FX shots not seen in the original film, that will only add to Avatar universe that James Cameron created with the original film.
Below you can watch the release trailer, and catch a glimpse of this new footage, along with images from the media day event, which features the incredibly talented crew highlighting their respective specialties, including designing the Avatar world, virtual production, the sounds of pandora and visual effects.
