Léa Seydoux, the French actress who recently appeared in Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood and the opening farmhouse scene of Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, will butt heads with Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible 4, according to RiskyBusiness. Seydoux will play the lead female villain in the sequel, which just began shooting in Europe.
Mission: Impossible 4 features two European baddies, with Michael Nyqvist – who played journalist Mikael Blomkvist in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – already cast as the co-villain. The Brad Bird film has new agents Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Vladimir Mashkov joining franchise alumni Cruise, electronics expert Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg.
Producer J.J. Abrams developed the story with writers Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum, who wrote the screenplay to be used during the film’s shoot.
