Empire has posted the promotional one sheet for Cloverfield director Matt Reeves’ remake of cult classic Let the Right One In – Let Me In – just days after the first trailer for the remake surfaced online, which you can check out below, if you haven’t already seen it.
According to reports, Reeves is promising a respectful handling of Tomas Alfredson’s brilliant original film and John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel on which it was based. But he’s got a legion of diehard fans to win over, including this one. However, from the looks of the trailer, he’s taking the right approach. He’s chosen the right young lady to play the youthful bloodsucker too – Chloe Moretz – who sliced, shot and kicked her way into our hearts as Hit-Girl in Kick-Ass. Lina Leandersson originally played the character, who was named Eli and is now called Abby.
Let Me In centers on a bullied young boy (Kodi Smit-McPhee) who befriends a young female vampire (Moretz) who lives in secrecy with her guardian (Richard Jenkins).
Jimmy Pinchak, Sasha Barrese, Chris Browning, Cara Buono, Elias Koteas, Seth Adkins, Rachel Hroncich and Dylan Minnette round out the cast of Let Me In, which hits theaters on October 1, 2010.
