Warner Bros. has set July 20, 2012, as the release date for the third Christopher Nolan Batman film, according to HeatVisionBlog. This even though there’s no title or start date for the project.
According to the report, the studio is not even in pre-production yet, and Nolan still completing post work on Inception, but apparently is prepping the story line with veteran Batman writer David Goyer.
July openings are becoming a pattern for Christopher Nolan, with The Dark Knight premiering on July 18, 2008, and the sci-fi thriller Inception hitting theaters on July 16th.
With Batman 3 firmly on tap for summer 2012, that film season is now set to have the largest big budget sci-fi and comic adaptation releases in years. Marvel’s The Avengers is scheduled to hit theaters on May 4th; director Peter Berg’s board game adaptation Battleship sets sail on May 25th; the Star Trek launches June 29th; and the Spider-Man origin story redo lands on July 3rd.
