USA Today has more news about Kiefer Sutherland’s officially canceled action drama 24, including details on the upcoming feature film and whether NBC will pick up the series.
According to the report, 20th TV pitched the show to NBC, but NBC declined (sorry fans). Additionally, Billy Ray – who directed Breach and wrote State of Play – is writing a screenplay for 24, which will be set in Prague and, following the TV skein, takes place in a single day, however not in real time, which will allow Jack Bauer (Sutherland) to travel across Europe. That aspect of the story has apparently not been finalized.
The current “day” has 10 episodes left after tonight’s broadcast, and will provide a more “definitive” ending than others, climaxing with a two-hour series finale on May 24th.
