Jon Hamm, star of the cult television hit Mad Men, has joined the cast of director Zack Snyder’s action fantasy Sucker Punch, according to THR.
Hamm joins already cast Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Abbie Cornish and Carla Gugino in the 1950s-set tale of a girl (Browning) confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days, before she and her friends enter an alternate reality where they plan a daring escape.
Details for Hamm’s character are being kept under wraps, but his name is intriguing enough – High Roller.
Sucker Punch, which Snyder wrote and is producing with his wife Deborah Snyder, is due to be released on March 25, 2011.
The first tagline for Sucker Punch was “Alice in Wonderland with machine guns.”
