Anthony Mackie, who most recently appeared in The Hurt Locker, has been cast in Universal Pictures’ sci-fi thriller The Adjustment Bureau, which Matt Damon and Emily Blunt are currently attached to star, according to Variety. George Nolfi, who’s making his directorial debut, will helm the movie from his own script, and produce alongside Chris Moore (Good Will Hunting, Joy Ride), Michael Hackett (Paycheck) and Bill Carraro (American History X, upcoming The Wolf Man).
The Adjustment Bureau is adapted from Philip K. Dick’s short story about a smooth-talking congressman whose political future is thrown in doubt by the arrival of a mysterious ballerina in his life.
According to the report, Mackie is currently appearing in The Bacchae in New York City as part of Shakespeare in the Park. The Adjustment Bureau will commence shooting in New York immediately following the wrap of the play.
