Columbia Pictures is in talks with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button director David Fincher to helm The Social Network from a script by Aaron Sorkin, which revolves around the formation of Facebook, according to Variety.
The film will focus on the evolution of Facebook from its 2004 creation in the dorms of Harvard by sophomore Mark Zuckerberg, to the juggernaut it is today, with more than 200 million members.
Scott Rudin and Michael De Luca will produce the film with Trigger Street’s Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti.
The Facebook movie is scheduled to start production later this year.
