According to GATW, by way of Empire News, Danny Trejo confirmed in an interview at CineVegas that he is not appearing in Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming action opus The Expendables as previously thought. He went on to say that his name was associated with the film for some unknown reason and that he was never contacted by Stallone or anyone involved with the film. He had been rumored to play a drug lord in the film, possibly the one that The Expendables are sent in to take out.
Trejo is apparently definitely doing Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming full-length Machete feature, based on one of the fake trailers featured in Rodriguez’s and Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse, which has been long-rumored to be moving forward.Trejo told the reporter he has spoken with Rodriguez the day prior and was told they would begin shooting in just five weeks.
Separately, I added Danny as a friend on MySpace, and was sent a link to www.vengeancearmy.com. The website is for an independent action film titled Vengeance that Trejo shot with Donal Logue (Blade), Jason Mewes (Clerks) and Robert Burke (Good Night, and Good Luck), that you can get for free at the website.
