For all you Spidey fans waiting until the next installment of the franchise, Spider-Man 4 producer Todd Black has been discussing plans for the new film. He recently told Reed Tucker of the New York Post that filmmakers are deciding who the villain’s going to be in Spider-Man 4, and “people will appreciate who we pick, because it’ll be a big part of New York.”
Tucker thinks it may either be Kraven the Hunter, or more likely Wilson Fisk a.k.a. The Kingpin, since both have NYC ties. The producer also confirmed that Kirsten Dunst will reprise her role as Mary Jane Watson in the new film.
We’ll have to wait a while to find out for sure. Spider-Man 4 is due in theaters on May 6, 2011, with Sam Raimi again at the helm.
