
Director Ridley Scott (Blade Runner) recently announced that a new division of his production company RSA Films, called Ag8, is working on a web video series called Purefold, set in a Blade Runner-themed dystopian future, according to The New York Times, by way of Sci-Fi Wire.
Purefold is the first product conceived by Ag8 and developed in partnership with Ridley and Tony Scott’s newly launched entertainment division Free Scott. It is described as an open media franchise designed for brands, platforms, filmmakers, product developers and communities to collaboratively imagine our near future, via is a series of linked 5 to 10 minute short films, first on the net and then perhaps television, that will be set at a point in time before 2019, when Blade Runner takes place.
