Bruce Willis is currently in discussions to appear in three new action films, including a thriller titled Inventory, an espionage film called Red and the mob biopic Scarpa, according to The Risky Business Blog.
In Red, the actor would play a former black-ops agent now in retirement, who’s forced back into action when a high-tech assassin threatens him and his girlfriend. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are producing the project, which is based on the WildStorm/DC Comic. Richard Donner, who worked with Willis in the 2006 cop thriller 16 Blocks, is one of a few directors being considered for the project.
Willis has also been considering an offer to play the lead in Scarpa, a biopic to be directed by Antoine Fuqua (who directed Willis in Tears of the Sun), and tells the story of Greg Scarpa, an FBI informant who worked undercover in New York’s Columbo crime family, although according to the report, that deal is looking less likely.
In the film Inventory, Willis would play a detective on the trail of a murderer.
Willis is also attached to a bunch of other action movies, including the buddy action-comedy A Couple of Dicks, which may be his next project; as well as Lionsgate’s adaptation of the video game Kane & Lynch.
He stars in another comic-based movie later this year – the sci-fi thriller Surrogates – which hits theaters on September 25, 2009.
Not bad for a guy who turned 54 last month.
