According to The Hollywood Reporter, Transformers star Megan Fox is in final negotiations to star opposite Josh Brolin and John Malkovich in the big screen adaptation of Jonah Hex, Warner Bros.’ action Western based on the DC Comic character. The actress is also attached to star and develop an adaptation of the Fox Atomic comic series Fathom.
In the Jimmy Hayward-directed Jonah Hex, Fox will play Leila, the gun-toting beauty and love interest of Hex (Brolin), who’s tracking a voodoo practitioner (Malkovich) who attempting to raise an army of undead to liberate the South.
Hex is prepping to lens in April.
The underwater adventure Fathom, a comic created by artist Michael Turner, revolves around a young woman named Aspen who learns that she is a member of a race of aquatic humanoids with the ability to control water.
Fox is helping shape the adaptation, which is being written by Jordan Mechner, the creator of video game Prince of Persia.
Peter Safran is producing Fathom with Steve Bessen and actor Brian Austin Green (Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles).
Fox will next be seen in the Transformers sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
