Slumdog tops Oscars

Slumdog Millionaire, the indie film dedicated to the spirit of hope and survival, was named best picture at the 81st Annual Academy Awards. The film that fought its way to worldwide recognition nabbed an incredible eight statues, including best director honors for Danny Boyle.
