First pics of Public Enemies Johnny Depp and Christian Bale

Empire Magazine has posted some exclusive shots of The Dark Knight Christian Bale as FBI agent Melvin Purvis and Johnny Depp as gang leader John Dillinger, in Michael Mann’s latest biopic/thriller Public Enemies.

Public Enemies, which is due in theaters on July 1st 2009, tells the stories of notorious American gangsters John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd, along with the FBI agents that fought to bring them to justice, during a booming crime wave in the 1930s. The film also stars Channing Tatum as Pretty Boy Floyd, Billy Crudup as J. Edgar Hoover, Leelee Sobieski as Polly Hamilton, Giovanni Ribisi as Alvin Karpis, David Wenham as Pete Pierpont, Stephen Graham as Baby Face Nelson, Emilie de Ravin as Anna Patzke, Marion Cotillard as Billie Frechette, Stephen Dorff as Homer Van Meter and Rory Cochrane as Carter Baum.
