Film Fetish Trivia: After singer Shirley Bassey recorded Goldfinger in 1964, she went on the record the title track for another British spy film, called The Liquidator, which was based on the first of the Boysie Oakes novels by author John Gardner, originally published in 1964. Gardner wrote seven more Oakes novels, before taking over writing the James Bond series from the late Ian Fleming, beginning in 1981 and ending in 1996. He wrote 16 Bond novels in all, including GoldenEye and License to Kill. He also penned the following titles that may not be as familiar to you:
- No Deals, Mr. Bond
- Seafire
- Role of Honor
- Never Send Flowers
- Scopius
- Death is Forever
- License Renewed
- Win, Lose or Die
- James Bond Cold Fall
- The Man From Barbarossa
