The Soloist film trailer

Robert Downey Jr. plays Steve Lopez, a columnist for the Los Angeles Times, who stumbles upon Nathaniel Ayers, played by Jamie Foxx, a gifted and schizophrenic, homeless musician that lives in Los Angeles’ Skid Row, who was a child prodigy, and still dreams of playing at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Joe Wright, who directed last year’s Atonement, as well as Pride & Prejudice, helmed The Soloist, from a script by Susannah Grant, based on a book by Steve Lopez.

Check out the first trailer for The Soloist below, which also stars Catherine Keener, Stephen Root, Tom Hollander, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Rachael Harris and Wayne Lopez. The film will be in theaters on November 21, 2008.
