Big Screen Entertainment has acquired world rights to a new French vampire film called Sodium Babies, co-directed by brothers Benoit and Julien Decaillon.
According to Big Screen CEO Kimberley Kates, the company screened Sodium Babies at this year’s Cannes Film Market. Kates says “It stood out among the numerous titles we previewed. The picture has a graphic novel visual element similar to the movies Sin City and 300. The story certainly has a crossover international appeal and we believe it will perform very well internationally.”
Vampire films are once again a popular genre with the highly anticipated Twilight due out this year and the HBO series True Blood premiering in September. Big Screen will begin marketing and selling Sodium Babies at the upcoming American Film Market in Santa Monica, California this November.
