Actor Steven Weber, currently portraying the intense network honcho in NBC’s hit show Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, will host the 11th annual Art Directors Guild (ADG) Awards ceremonies, to be held on February 17, 2007. It was announced today by Thomas A. Walsh, ADG’s Chairman, and Awards Committee Co-Chairs Tom Wilkins and Scott Meehan.
A number of prestigious awards will be presented at the black-tie affair, to be held in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel, including the Outstanding Contribution to Cinematic Imagery Award going to Terry Gilliam. Eight ADG awards in production design categories for television, theatrical motion pictures and commercials will also be presented, along with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Production Designer Dean Tavoularis. In addition five legendary Production Designers of the past are to be inducted into the ADG’s Hall of Fame. They are Hilyard Brown, Henry Bumstead, Carroll Clark, Stephen Goosson and Harry Horner.
Nominations will be announced January 18, 2007. Final ballots are scheduled to be mailed Jan. 18 and will be due back Feb. 15, no later than 5:00 PM.
