The girl lives in an imaginary world of her own creation and faces the real world with much chagrin. Ghost Rider Due February 16, 2007
Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil) writes and directs Nicolas Cage as the motorcycle riding fiery superhero.
Grind House Due April 6, 2007
I have been talking a lot about this film recently. Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, Sin City 2) and Quentin Tarantino (Kill Bill 1 and 2) write and direct this genre double feature, including fake movie trailers in between both movies. Rodriguez directs Planet Terror segment and Tarantino directs Death Proof.
Skinwalkers Due in April of 2007
The director of Skinwalkers, James Isaac, did the special makeup effects for David Cronenberg’s eXistenZ. That could bode well for the film Skinwalkers. Lions Gate is releasing the film, which also bodes well. The story revolves around a 12 year old boy and his mother, who become the targets of two warring werewolf packs.
Saw III Due Halloween 2006 (October 27)
Jigsaw kidnaps a doctor to keep him alive while he watches his new apprentice put an unlucky citizen through a brutal test. Mmmm…Could there be dissension in the ranks here?
Black Christmas Due December 25, 2006
From writer/director Glen Morgan, who produced The X Files, and wrote Final Destination, comes Black Christmas, about a group of sorority sisters who find themselves harassed by a stranger with menacing phone-calls and then death, one by one on Christmas Break. A remake of the 1974 cult horror film, Black Christmas.
Wind Chill Due in 2007
Two college students share a ride home for the holidays. When they break down on a deserted stretch of road, they are preyed upon by the ghosts of those who died there.
Film Fetish Trivia: Wind Chill director Gregory Jacobs is the assistant director on the upcoming Ocean’s Thirteen, also due 2007.
Hellion Due sometime in 2006
A writer returns to his hometown in England, where he’s forced to confront his family’s past and the town’s centuries-old secret after mocking the region’s Celtic lore in a novel he penned.
The Hitcher Due April 13, 2007
While driving through the desert, two college students pick up a hitchhiker that turns out to be a psychopathic killer. Remake of the 1986 C. Thomas Howell and Rutger Hauer film. My only question is, will they redo the scene where the two trucks tear the girl apart? Sean Bean, Sophia Bush, Zachary Knighton and Neal McDonough star.
The Reaping Due March 30, 2007 (Recently pushed back from 2006 release slate)
Stephen Hopkins directs Hilary Swank in The Reaping. Swank plays a former Christian missionary who lost her faith after her family was tragically killed, and has since become a world-renowned expert in disproving religious phenomena. But when she investigates a small Louisiana town suffering from what appear to be Biblical plagues, she realizes she must regain her faith to combat dark forces threatening the community. Filming on The Reaping in Louisiana was interrupted by Hurricane Katrina.
Rogue TBD release date
Jet Li, who just appeared in the magnificent Fearless, stars along with Jason Statham, John Lone, Devon Aoki, Steph Song, and Terry Chen, in Rogue. After his partner Tom Wynne (Chen) and family are killed apparently by the infamous assassin known only as Rogue (Li), FBI agent Jack Crawford (Statham) becomes obsessed with revenge as his world unravels, fueled by guilt and betrayal.
Premonition Due March 16, 2007
A housewife is shocked when her husband dies in a car crash and reappears the following day. When she realizes it was a “premonition,” she attempts to avoid the tragedy. Premonition stars Sandra Bullock, Mike Coe, Marcus Lyle Brown, and Irene Ziegler.
